Three percent concession returns Huron Valley teachers to 2010-11 Pay Schedule

Good morning colleagues,

I have good news to share.

At the December 7th school board meeting, Superintendent Baker announced the return of this year's 3% concession. We will get 3% retro pay in our December 23rd paycheck - dating back to the September 10, 2015 pay. Going forward the 3% will be in our paychecks for the remainder of the year. Due to our very healthy fund balance, this money is being returned to us a year ahead of schedule.

Mr. Baker also made it very clear in his announcement that this 3% returns us to the 2010-11 pay schedule and that our staff members have made deep financial sacrifices over the last four years to help keep our district solvent. That is a fact that I wanted to be made very clear.

I want to thank our school board and Superintendent Baker. I also want to thank our HVEA Executive Board and our Financial Review Committee for working extremely hard on your behalf. We have an excellent team working for you.

Next year is the last year of our contract extension, at the very least, we maintain the 10/11 salary. There is much more ongoing work to do concerning our salary. Collaborative dialogue has already started for next year and beyond.
Have a great holiday season with family and friends and enjoy your much needed and well deserved time off!
Thank you,

Denise
